SHE GOT BACK UP TO TRY AGAIN
Last week, just after reaching the age of 100, Ella Mae Colbert ran 100 meters in 46.791 seconds, breaking the old age group record by over 30 seconds. The former Chesnee, SC teacher set her record on the track of the school she taught at for 36 years.
What's most impressive about Ella Mae's run is not the new record itself. Yes, of course, her time is impressive and it cuts the old record almost in half.
What truly impresses is that she fell down on her first attempt. And then got back up, got first aid foe a cut on her chin and readied herself for a second attempt.
